The Cave of Adullum
                  Matthew 14:29-31, I Samuel 30:7-8
 
A.  The Cave of  failure.
 
B.  Take  action.
 
     1.  Taking action is very powerful.
 
     2.  In any arena where you are concerned about failure, the single most destructive thing you can do is nothing.
 
     3.  Lack of hope is what kills marriage more than anything else.
 
     4.  Sometimes failure simply involves our failure to persist in trying when should continue.
 
     5.  If you can't get out of it, get into it.
 
6.  Failure is refusing to run the race at all.
 
C.  Failure as Teacher.
     1.  In the cave David discovered that, more than he wanted to be king, he wanted to belong to God.
 
D.  Finding ultimate refuge.
 
     1.  Sometimes you are in a cave, and no human action is able to get you out.
 
     2.  Sometimes there is no way out of the cave.
 
     3.  The cave is where God  resurrects dead things!
