Seeing The Wind
Matthew 14:30-32
1. People generally respond to problems in one of two ways:
a. Defeat.
b. Resilency.
IV. Facing the Storm.
A. Sooner or later the storm strikes.
B. The key decisions that the storm forces:
1. Resilient people exercise control rather than passively resign.
a. Faith believes that with God we are never helpless victims.
b. When life does not turn out the way you had planned, the option of quitting will always begin to look like sweet relief.
c. Do not easily leave.
2. Resilient people remain committed to their values when tempted to compromise.
a. There are times,when life does not turn out the way you planned and temptation has a very strong hold on your garment, when the only thing to do is run.
b. It is when we are in the valley, when we are in the most dangerous place.
c. Sin is a substitute for legitimate suffering.
d. It is an attempt to obtain the pleasure that does not rightfully belong to me or evade the pain that does.
e. The Lord was with Joseph.
