Rag Dolls (Part 2)

  Rag Dolls
                         Jn. 3:16; Rms. 5:8
 
Two Truths:
I.  We are all of us rag dolls.
 
    A.  We are God's rag dolls.
          1.  We were not created ragged.
          2.  We may be unlovely, but not unloved.
          3.  We cannot be loved without being changed.
          4.  Eros love is not just sexual love.
               a.  Eros is love on a treasure hunt.
          5.  We need God's love.
               a.  This is a love that creates value in what is loved.
 
II.  We are called to love.
     A.  In Jesus day, it was the people who were most aware of their raggedness who were most open to His love.
     B.  Love means being for the one who is loved.
          1.  Being for someone is deeper than just wanting to spare them pain.
     C.  Love delights in and enjoys the one who is loved.
          2.  Raggedness is not worthlessness.
     D.  Love gives to and serves the one loved.
          1.  Giving is love with character.
