I. Why has God set Israel aside?
A. They didn't
listen to what God told them.

There is no more zealous people in the world than Jews.
B. They tried to
save themselves by good works. (3-4)
1. They tried to set up their own religion.
2. There is salvation by subtraction.
3. There is salvation by service.
C. They
misunderstood the purpose of the Law.
1. Every other faith is based on the word "do".
2. The Word just shows us how far we fall short.
D. It is not
permanent. (16)
II. Who can be saved?
A. Two key words:

have a responsibility in salvation.
