What It Means To Be A Christian
Romans 8:5-17
I. The difference between believers
and unbelievers.
A. Their
mindset: Believers have their mind set on what the
Spirit desires. The unbeliever has his mind set on what the
flesh desires.
B. Differences in
their lifestyle. Believers lifestyle is one of peace and
life. The unbelievers is one of death.
C. Attitude
toward God. Believers is one that wants to submit to God.
Unbelievers is hostile toward God.
D. Believers are
pleasing to God. Unbelievers can't please God.
II. The primary characteristic of a genuine
Christian:
A. One who has the
Spirit of Christ and is controlled by the Spirit.
B. Who is the
Holy Spirit? He is God and Jesus.
C. What does he
do? He does everything that you need in the christian
life.
1.
He indwells me.
2.
He baptizes me at salvation.
3.
He fills me as often as I allow Him to.
