The Danger of Judging Others

                   The Danger of Judging Others
                    Romans 2:1-16

I.  No one has the right to judge others.

Four characteristics of a self-righteous person:
     A.  He accuses others and excuses himself.  (1)
How do we excuse our sin?
            1.  We label our own sin.
            2.  We conveniently forget our own sin.
     B.  He measures others by the wrong standard.
     C.  He thinks that judging others puts him in a better position. (3)
     D.  He misinterprets God's blessing on his life. (4)

When Is it wrong to judge?
1.  It is wrong to judge when you practice the same sin.
2.  When it blinds you to your own faults.
3.  When you draw conclusions based on outward appearance.
4.  When you condemn somebody else before hearing the facts.
5.  When you judge a person's spirituality on the basis of external observances.
6.  When it causes you to speak evil against, or slander, another believer.
7.  Nothing-- how is that possible?

II.  Only God has the right to judge others:
     A.  When God will judge people:  (11)
     B.  How God will judge people:  (2)
                                                   (11)

     C.  What we will be judged  for:  (6-10)
                                                    (12-15)
                                                    (16)
